Houston, we have a problem

One day I come home and I find this in the middle of the hallway.

Although I was surprised, I also remember reading that for the first month the worms would explore their new house (and escape from it) before settling in. The sad part is that worms need to be in humid environment to survive and they dry out and die very fast, the big explorer worm in my hallway had already turned into crisp worm noodle unfortunately, rest of them were safely returned back to their home.
